A Candlelit Wedding at The Bowery Hotel, New York

Kiara and Alex · Manhattan, New York

Kiara and Alex got married at The Bowery Hotel, a quintessential New York wedding venue that effortlessly blends vintage opulence with urban sophistication: exposed brick walls, warm fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows with views over the city.

From the morning light pouring through those big windows to a dance floor under a disco ball, it was a day full of light, shadow and a lot of laughter.

Getting Ready at The Bowery Hotel

Kiara and Alex got ready high above the Bowery, with the skyline of Lower Manhattan and One World Trade Center right outside the window. The light coming through the tall factory windows made every moment of the morning look like a film still.

Kiara was buttoned into her strapless gown by the window, while Alex fastened his cuffs and got ready with his friends.

Portraits at the Bowery Hotel Windows

Before the celebrations began, the two of them took a few quiet minutes together at the window, hand in hand, with the whole city below them.

Down the Aisle

Kiara walked in with her bouquet between the old brick walls, and after the vows the two of them walked back through their guests hand in hand, all smiles.

A Candlelit Dinner at The Bowery Hotel

Dinner was served at long tables lit by tall candles, under strings of lights and chandeliers, with the lights of the city glittering through the windows. A saxophonist played for the guests, and once it got dark I took Kiara and Alex back to the window one more time, for a portrait with New York lit up behind them.

Dancing Under the Disco Ball

Then the dance floor took over. After their first dance a live singer pulled everyone in, the bridesmaids in green velvet led the cheers, and Kiara changed into a feathered dress for the rest of the night under the disco ball.

Yes. Ceremonies take place on the Bowery Terrace, in front of the tiled fireplace or out on the terrace, and the same floor then hosts cocktails, dinner and dancing.
