A Summer Wedding at Battello in Jersey City

Meghan and Mariusz · Jersey City, New Jersey

Meghan and Mariusz got married on a Saturday in June, with a ceremony at Saint Ann Roman Catholic Church in Hoboken and a celebration at Battello in Jersey City.

Strictly speaking Battello is in New Jersey, but it sits right on the Hudson at the Newport waterfront, and it is one of the best places to have the Manhattan skyline as the backdrop of your wedding.

Details in Sage and Gold

Their invitations came in sage green envelopes, and the rest of the day followed suit: gold sandals, white peonies and bridesmaids in sage green satin.

A First Look on the Battello Pier

Before the ceremony Meghan and Mariusz saw each other for the first time on the pier, with One World Trade Center right across the river. We stayed for a glass of champagne and portraits with their bridal party and their families.

Bagpipes in Hoboken

The ceremony took place at Saint Ann Roman Catholic Church in Hoboken. A bagpiper played at the door, a vintage white car waited outside, and despite a little rain everyone made it up the steps in style.

Dinner at Battello on the Jersey City Waterfront

Back at Battello, cocktail hour came with a grazing table full of summer fruit and a saxophonist, and dinner was served at round tables full of flowers under strings of lights, with the skyline in every window.

Dancing Until Late

Meghan and Mariusz danced their way into the room, cut a cake covered in summer flowers, and later Meghan changed into a short dress for a party that went on long after the sun had set over Manhattan.
